Pentaho Installation

  1. preparation
    1. Download pentaho source from



    1. download java – jre > 5
    2. make sure you have mysqld running
  2. unzip and put in /opt/pentaho-demo
  3. create mysql database
    1. mysql –u root –p < /opt/pentaho-demo/data/mysqdump.sql
  4. run pentaho by starting jboss
    1. /opt/pentaho-demo/jboss/bin/ –b (run on all ip)

  1. make sure all privileges is accordingly set in mysql database (look at hibuser, pentaho_user, pentaho_admin should be granted access form localhost)



6. open internet exporer and type http://servername:8080
